Time to check in on some of the cool new maps being created with Google's new My Maps map creation tool. For those of you haven't heard of it yet, My Maps is a do-it-yourself tool that lets you create your own Google Maps mashup with a few mouse clicks (and NO coding). It's really easy.. So easy a caveman could do it! To give it a whirl, slide over to Google Maps and look for the 'My Maps' tab.. To wake up your creative juices, here are some great examples that should inspire you to make your first Google Maps mashup! :)

Urban Travel Blog Gridskipper also has a nice roundup of Google My Maps as well!

Particularly fond of a one very special Google My Map? Okay.. so it might even be one you've spent time creating. Post a comment and let the world know!

Nice maps. I added some of them to Ongopongo.com - there's a few hundred good google my maps on there.

My Maps Plus has a world map now at http://www.mymapsplus.com/bigmap showing locations of My Maps around the world. You can click on a map marker on the world map and view the My Map within the info window.

Theres a quick script creation tool on the way to let people embed maps without registering on the site first - but you get a lot more script options if you do register :-)

Not sure if it would be of interest on this site or not, but I maintain a slowly growing Google "My Map" devoted to the fountains in downtown Vancouver (sixty-some, so far!).

Check out my map of Philadelphia! Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Penn’s Landing, South Philly, Market Street – Philadelphia is an unforgettable mix of history, culture and fun. And don’t forget the world-famous cheesesteaks!
