The Truth About Google's UFO Logos

Google has today replaced it's normal logo with a picture of a crop circle that spells the search giant's name (pictured above). The picture also shows a white UFO hovering over the crop circle. This is the second Google logo to feature a UFO this month and has led to fevered speculation about what it all means.

As well as today's logo Google have also been tweeting the following latitude / longitude: 51.327629, -0.5616088.

This spot in
Horsell, Surrey, England was the location for the first UFO landing in H G Well's novel The War of the Worlds. This seems to confirm Google Operating System's theory that the logo's are celebrating the birth of H G Wells on 21 September 1866.

The Guardian seem to think that Google will use the 143rd anniversary of Wells's birth next week to hold some kind of on-line happening.
