The Hockey Heatmap of Canada

The 10 and 3 has released a Canadian NHL Players Map. The map shows the number of NHL players from each region since 1923.

Regions on this hockey heat-map of Canada are assigned a color intensity based on the number of players whose birthplace was in that region. The more players relative to the area’s population then the higher the intensity.

The map is a little skewed by regions with a low population. These regions can show up bright red even when there is only one player, due to the map showing the number of players per 10,000 residents. The map does include a button to exclude regions with only one player.
