Mapbox has added two Mars imagery layers to the Mapbox mapping library. Mars Satellite and Mars Terrain uses data from NASA & ESA to provide map tiles of the surface of Mars.
A post on the Mapbox Blog introduces the two new Mars map layers with a demo map for each of the new Mars maps. The post also includes an impressive 3d map of Mars created with the imagery using WebGL Earth & Cesium.js.
The 3d Mars map includes map markers which lead to closer views of a number of Mars' mountains, crevasses and volcanoes. Click on one of the markers and you can view the selected area visualized as a wireframe or shaded relief model. It is also possible to adjust the terrain elevation magnification of each model.
