Foraging with Google Maps

Find Fruit
It isn't exactly the right time of year in the northern hemisphere to go foraging for fruit but you can certainly get your planning in early with this new iPhone application.

The application uses Google Maps to show the location of fruit trees on public land. You can get information about each tree by clicking on its map marker. It is possible to search for fruit by your current location or by zipcode/address.

It is also possible to search for fruit by seasonality, type of fruit and proximity. The data for Find Fruit comes from a mashup previously featured on Google Maps Mania called Neighborhood Fruit.
