Chicago Homicides on Google Maps
The Chicago Gun Violence Data Visualization from The Red Line Project is an interactive timeline of Chicago gun homicides.
The timeline uses Google Maps to show the locations of Chicago homicides in the first two months of 2013. The timeline animates through the locations of Chicago gun crime in chronological order, displaying a Google Map and a Street View of each location.
Chicago Homicides 2012 uses Derek Eder's Searchable Map Template to visualise all homicides in Chicago in 2012.
All of the homicides are displayed on a Google Map as individual map markers and each Chicago neighborhood is also shaded to create a heatmap of homicides in the city. Users can filter the results displayed on the map by age of victim and by date.
