Water Quality Maps
What's in the Water is both a mapped guide to the water quality of Ontario's lakes and rivers and a resource for fish consumption caught in the province's waters.
Using the map you can click on the conical flask map markers to view a breakdown of the water quality at the selected location. The breakdown includes readings for nitrates, alkalinity and various metals. The individual readings for each measurement are provided and are colored green if they are within accepted safety levels or red where the levels are deemed unsafe.
You can click on the fish map markers to view the species of fish that you can catch at a particular location. If you select a species of fish listed in the map sidebar you can read more about the species and click through to read about the consumption guidelines for the selected species of fish.
