Mapping Global Corruption

The most corrupt countries in the world are Somalia and North Korea, according to Transparency International.

The Corruption Perceptions Index measures perceived levels of public sector corruption across the world. The CPI is calculated using data collected "by a variety of reputable institutions". You can view the full list of the data sources via a link on the Transparency International FAQ page.

Transparency International has released a Mapbox created interactive map to visualize the CPI rank and score of all 175 countries and territories included in the index. If you select a country on the map you can view its 2014 corruption score and rank and compare these to its 2013 CPI score.

Of the 175 countries included in the index Denmark is the country which is perceived as having the least corrupt public sector in the world.
