The Road to the Super Bowl Stadium

Esri has used historical satellite imagery from World Imagery (Wayback) to show the construction of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium over time. On Sunday the stadium will host Super Bowl LIII between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots.

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium was opened in 2017 and replaced the Georgia Dome. Esri's the Road to Super Bowl LIII uses historical satellite imagery to track the process of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium's construction. The map also shows the removal of the Georgia Dome, which hosted Super Bowl XXVIII and Super Bowl XXXIV.

World Imagery (Wayback) is an interactive map which allows you to explore historical versions od World Imagery's satellite map. Using Wayback you can explore this historical aerial imagery back to February 20, 2014. The map is a great way to explore areas which have been seen significant development over the last few years, using aerial imagery captured over the last four years.
