At the heart of the experience is an AI "City Concierge." This agent doesn't just possess total contextual awareness of what you are looking at on screen - such as identifying a specific helicopter you’ve clicked on - but it can also take direct control of the simulation. You can ask the concierge to fly you to any neighborhood or task it with real-time navigation queries, like locating the closest available Citi Bike near Veniero's Bakery. The environment dynamically adapts to the real world, shifting seamlessly between day and night cycles and tracking live weather conditions.

Perhaps the most fascinating element of NYCSim is its population. The simulation runs daily snapshots that host roughly 10,000 synthetic residents walking the streets. Rather than wandering aimlessly, these residents are powered by LLMs and assigned real, anonymized personas derived from government census data -matching aggregate local demographics for age, education, and occupation. These agents actively react to the simulation's current state, modifying their behaviors and inner thoughts based on the live weather or recent headlines (leading to relatable moments like a resident lamenting a forgotten umbrella during a sudden downpour).
