The Tapei Medical University and the University of New South Wales has used the Google Maps API to map the relationships between different human diseases. The Disease Map is an attempt to visualize the associations between different human disorders.
Each circle on the map represents a single human disorder as classified by the International Classification of Diseases. The circle sizes reflect the prevalence of a disease in a given age/gender group and the colours correspond to one of 17 specific categories of diseases.
