The Arizona OpenGIS Initiative for Deceased Migrants has released a Google Maps portal for querying and viewing migrant deaths in Pima County Arizona. Since the year 2000 over 2,100 undocumented migrants have died within the Pima County jurisdiction.
This partnership between the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner and Humane Borders aims to raise awareness about migrant deaths and lessen the suffering of the families affected. Users can search the map by name, gender, year and cause of death. The map is also available in Spanish.
