The Old New Deal on Google Maps

The economic programs enacted in the United States between 1933 and 1936 under Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal not only helped reinvigorate a depressed economy but also left a vast legacy of public works that still exist today.

New Deal airports, schools, hospitals, post offices, art and highways are still in use 75 years after they were built. The Living New Deal Project Map is a Google Map that lets you explore the locations of 3,587 of the New Deal projects that still exist.

The map allows you to explore the projects not only by location but by category, by New Deal agencies and by the name of individual artists.
