Explore Your Neighborhood in Tron
Have you ever wondered what your neighborhood would look like inside The Grid - the neon digital frontier of Tron?
I decided to find out. By combining OpenStreetMap data with three.js, I transformed my local streets into a fully explorable, 3D neon world. The process was so rewarding that I integrated the Overpass API, allowing anyone to teleport to their own corner of the globe and see it realized as a high-contrast, digital landscape.
I then decided to turn this into a game.
In The Hunt for Red Octangles your mission is to patrol the world's greatest cities to track down the RED OCTANGLES - digital anomalies slowly corrupting the neon skyscrapers of the Grid. In this task you command a high-tech surveillance blimp that has been deployed to hunt down these glitches in the neon digital world. It is up to you to use your blimp's powerful searchlight to expose these elusive targets and neutralize them before the corruption spreads. The Grid is counting on you.
How to Play
- Navigate: Use LEFT/RIGHT ARROWS to steer the blimp.
- Scan: Shine your SEARCHLIGHT over buildings to identify targets.
- Track: Use the RADAR (bottom-left) to find red blips in the distance.
- Deploy: Press '/' to search for any city on Earth and redeploy your mission.
- View: Toggle between Drone and Follow modes to change your perspective.
