Scrabble Map
Apparently yesterday was International Scrabble Day, and to celebrate the occasion the Map Design Commission of the International Cartographic Association decided to create a Scrabble Map for its #365DaysOfMaps Campaign.
Scrabble Map is a very simple but also quite addictive map game. A country is randomly selected, and players are given a scrambled set of letters. Your task? Drag and arrange them to correctly spell the country’s name. Get it right, and the country is colored in on the map.
Scoring follows the traditional Scrabble letter values, meaning longer or more complex country names can rack up serious points.
One of the nicest touches is how the map evolves alongside your progress. Each correctly spelled country fills in visually, while your accumulated points build into a running total. If you are forced to pass on guessing a country then it is colored red on the map
The #365Days of Maps Campaign is a project to create a map a day for the entire year of 2026 using Web Mapper GPT.
If you like Scrabble Map you might also like my own game Country Recall - which challenges you to name every single country in the world.
