Building Age Maps: From NYC to LA

I recently featured New York in 1.67 Million Buildings - a building age map created by Block and Paper, who have developed similar animated timelines for 80 other US cities and lots of other cities around the world.

One of those other cities is Los Angeles. However, if you want an even wider perspective, Parcelscope's Every Building in Los Angeles County lets you view an animated construction history for the entire county. Their map visualizes nearly 3 million buildings constructed since 1880.

Parcelscope uses the exact same animated building age code as Block and Paper, but applies it across the broader region of LA County. Obviously, a lot of code has been replicated by either Block and Paper or Parcelscope, so presumably that underlying mapping code has been open-sourced somewhere. If anyone has a link to the open-sourced code that would be very useful for developers who would like to create their own building age maps for other cities.
