Street View in 3-D Gets a Competitor

Norc

Street View competitor Norc, who have Street View type imagery in Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Hungary, have added the option to view interactive panoramas in 3-D.

Last week Google added a 3-D option to Google Street View. If users have 3-D glasses they can now view the Eiffel Tower, Buckingham Palace, The White House and other sites around the world on Google Maps in glorious 3-D.

Norc, who use Google Maps to show the location of their Street View type imagery, also has this option. Just as with Google Maps the images have a 3-D glasses shaped button that when selected enables the viewer to view interactive panoramas in 3-D.

Unfortunately I don't have any 3-D glasses to test out either provider, but my 3-D spies tell me that the service looks much better in Norc's imagery than in Google Street View.

I have eye rectrum problems that causes me to not process 3-d images like that. :(
