I love Claude Friese-Greene's The Open Road, an early color film of London, shot in the 1920's. I've used clips from the film in my own There and Then Street View app. There and Then superimposes vintage film footage on top of the same view, as you can see today in Google Maps Street View.
Simon Smith also loves The Open Road. In fact he loved it so much that he decided to reshoot the film, shot-for-shot, in today's London. The resulting video, London in 1927 & 2013, shows Smith's modern film side-by-side with the London scenes from The Open Road.
