Food Flying All Over the Map
This animated Google Map shows the distribution and frequency of restaurant home deliveries in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The Lucky Lunch Map visualizes data from the Lucky Lunch restaurant delivery service in Russia's fourth largest city.
The map is an interesting demonstration of using blackhole.js to dynamically visualize data on an interactive map. The main objective of blackhole.js is to visualize data changing over time. The library is used on the Lucky Lunch Map to animate food deliveries, showing the deliveries leaving restaurants and being delivered to homes throughout the city.
A frequency graph overlaid on the map reveals the distribution of deliveries over the course of a day, revealing the hours of the day when the most home deliveries are made.
