The Open Geoportal on Google Maps

The OpenGeoportal is a great open source repository of geospatial data. GeoData@Tufts is the Tufts University instance of OpenGeoportal.

It is possible to search GeoData@Tufts by using the search bar or just by interacting with the Google Map. For example, if you zoom in on Boston, all the open geo-data for Boston will be displayed in the map sidebar. For Boston the available open geo-data includes Boston open spaces, historical maps, MBTA bus-stops, subway lines & subway stations and much more.

Users can view any of the geo-data layers directly on the map by selecting the layer. Users can also click the 'cart' checkbox to save the selected layer for download.
