Ten minutes after posting about the Torque library I noticed than CartoDB has officially released the tool for all their registered users.
To accompany the blog post announcing the release CartoDB has also created a neat animated map of all new CartoDB users that signed-up between late August and early November 2013.
CartoDB users can now implement Torque in their maps directly from the CartoDB user interface. One of the first examples is this amazing map animating 3.2 million fishing boat locations around the UK in 15 minutes.
