Snail Tracking on Google Maps

Evolution Megalab

Evolution Megalab from the Open University has been created to answer some important questions about snails. For example, they want to determine if the geographical pattern in the colour of snail has changed in response to global warming.

In order to answer some of these questions Evolution Megalab have created a Google Map of over 30 years of snail data. With the map users can zoom in on their location and see if the colour of snails has changed in their neighbourhood over the years.

Coloured pie charts are overlaid on the map so that users can tell at a glance the percentage of the different varieties of snails in any location.
