The Frequency of the New York Subway
New York City Transit Frequency is an interesting mapped visualization of the frequency of subway trains and buses on the New York transit system. Using the map you can see where in New York the subway trains and buses run most frequently (and less frequently) for weekdays and for Saturdays.
The map allows you to view four data layers which show the frequency of buses on Fridays & Saturdays, and the frequency of subway trains on the same two days of the week. The darker the color of a transit line on the map the more frequent the buses or trains run. You can also hover over lines on the map to find out exactly how many trains or buses run every hour between any two stops.
As you might guess the map shows that transit tends to run more frequently on weekdays than it does at the weekend. You probably also won't be surprised to learn that buses and trains run more frequently in Manhattan than they do in some of the more less central boroughs.
