The Mappiness Marker Spiderfier Library

Mappiness, the UK emotion map, has a nice solution for visualising individual markers when they are in an overlapping cluster of other markers. The Overlapping Marker Spiderfier Library allows map developers to add the 'marker spiderfier' to their own maps.

With the  marker spiderfier when a user mouses-over a cluster of overlapping markers on a Google Map the markers will spiral out so that all the individual markers are clearly visible. You can see the effect in the screenshot above, on the Mappiness website or in the library demo map.

I can vouch for the awesomeness of this library. I easily integrated it into all my maps on Your Mapper, when markers are overlapping at the same lat/lon.

Example map - Crime in San Fran. Click on a dark cluster for some Spiderfying action.
