UK Census 2011 Data Released
The UK's Office for National Statistics has released the first tranche of data from the 2011 UK census. This release includes data on household and population estimates by age and sex, for England and Wales and local authorities.
The Guardian are the first to create a Google Maps based visualisation of the new data. The Census 2011 Map allows users to view UK population data by local authority. You can use the drop-down menu to switch between different population data sets, including population change since 2011, 2011 population under 5 & over 64 and non-UK short term residents.
