When Pigs Fly on Google Maps
Team Maps has released a neat new library for adding overlays to Google Maps Street View. There are two examples of the code in action, Street View Overlay and Street View Tour.
The Street View Overlay displays an image on top of Street View. The image is synchronised to the Street View so that when the user pans the Street View the image overlay also moves. The Street View Tour uses the same principle but allows you to create a number of image overlays for different locations.
The javascript for each is available under the Apache License. Therefore developers are free to use and modify the code. Team Maps has been kind enough to even add a little credit to yours truly. However I have to admit that I contributed very little to this, beyond Photoshopping a picture of a flying pig.
