Your Daily GeoGuessing Challenge!
TripGeo Snaps is a new GeoGuessr type game with a difference. Instead of being dropped into a Street View panorama that you can explore, you are shown a static Street View snapshot. You can't pan around, follow the road or search for clues elsewhere. You have to identify the country purely from the visual clues contained in the image in front of you.
Every game presents you with five locations. Each image initially appears through a small spotlight, so you only get a limited glimpse of the scene. You then have three chances to identify the country from a list of eight possibilities.
This might sound hard but get it wrong and the game gives you a little more help. The image gets bigger, while the number of possible answers is reduced from 8 to 4, then 2. Guess correctly on your first attempt and you score 3 points; get it on your second attempt for 2 points, or settle for 1 point on your final guess.
The result is a fast-paced game of spotting visual clues. The road markings, architecture, signs and even the vegetation might give you some clues – and sometimes the smallest detail can be the difference between a confident three points and a very wrong guess.
There are 50 locations to find each day, giving you ten five-location games to work through. Can you identify all 50 countries?
