The Dot Density Map of Women

In the past there have been a few dot density visualizations showing the racial distribution of the US population based on census data. Now you can view a Dot Density Map of Women, showing where women live in the US.

If you zoom in on a city or town on the map you can view where women make up more than 50 percent of the population. The white dots show where women make up less than 50% of the population and the pinker dots show where they are in the majority.

The map was made by CartoDB's Andrew Hill. If you are a fan of dot density maps then you can learn more about how to Make insightful dot density visualizations in CartoDB on the CartoDB blog.
