Street View Captures Man on the Throne

Google have sportingly removed a Street View image that caught an Australian man sitting on the toilet. The Street View camera caught the man as he was sitting in his outhouse in Port Melbourne, Victoria.

Anyone who uses an outside toilet with the door wide open is hardly likely to be concerned with privacy issues, I therefore assume Google removed the image to protect the delicacies of other users of Google Maps.

The Sydney Morning Herald: "private activities being captured for public view". Since urinating in public is a misdemeanor in any country i know it can hardly be called a private activity when made public!

In a way this might deter people from urinating or defecating in public, which is a good thing... not just the smell is pretty annoying...

He was our next door neighbour, we found the image as we were pissed off about how we had 7 ft high back fence but the camera mounted high was invasive of our privacy & a tool for burglars by showing what was in our back yard that had been hidden by the fence. We spun the camera around & looked in our neighbours back yard & there he was. We passed the link of the street view image to family & friends & it went viral. 6 months later I happened to mention it to the neighbour assuming he was aware of it & he saw it for the first time making quite irate. He complained to Google & they removed it immediately. We complained about our backyard being shown & that was also blacked out.
