History of Warfare on Google Maps

Conflict History

Conflict History is a timeline and Google Map of all the world's conflicts, ever. The timeline starts with the Kurukshetra War of 3000 BC and maps all the world's conflicts up to the 1970's.

A slidebar timeline runs along the bottom of the map. To load the conflicts for any period the user just needs to scroll the sidebar to the relevant date. The conflicts are shown on the Google map with red circular map markers and listed in the map sidebar.

The only thing missing from this map is a little context. It would be nice, for example, if the sidebar links, as well as showing the location of the conflict on the map, also linked to a relevant article (perhaps on Wikipedia). That aside, this is an amazing project, which must have a very large database. There have been a lot of conflicts.
