Tracking the Protocols of the Elders of Zion
Damien Debarra, as part of a project for a course at the University of Edinburgh has created this Google My Map tracking the spread of the anti-semitic forgery the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The map is part of an attempt "to understand how poor research, multi-located narratives and the 'will of the web' can ensure that dangerous, patently false ideas can continue to thrive."
The map shows how the forgery has been picked up and been used to support anti-semitic ideas throughout the twentieth century and even into the present millennium. You can view the original My Map created by Damien on his blog Blather.
The map contains a lot of text so, with Damien's permission, I've imported the GeoRSS of the My Map using Map Channels to create another map in which the full text is a little easier to read.
