Snowmageddon on Google Maps - Updated

NOAA Snow Map

The National Weather Service Forecast Office have released a Google Map showing the recent total snowfall for the Washington DC area.

The map uses numbered map markers to show the number of inches that fell at different locations. Clicking on any of the map markers reveals the date and time of the measurement.

The map markers also use colours to reflect the total snowfall (red representing the largest). The map seems to show the heaviest snowfall in the area around Columbia.

District of Columbia Snow Repsonse

This Google Map from the District of Columbia Department of Transportation allows residents of Washington to view planned road treatments.

If you zoom in on the map and press 'start' map markers will load on the map showing the times of snow plowing and salt gritting.
