The Australian Earthquake Map

Last week Geoscience Australia released a report on seismic activity in the country during 2013. Western Australia was the most seismically active state, experiencing 332 earthquakes, and the small town of Ernabella in South Australia recorded the largest earthquake (a 5.7 magnitude quake).

You can keep up to date with current seismic activity in Australia on Geoscience Australia's Earthquake Map. This Google Map shows earthquakes that have occurred in Australia and the surrounding region during the last seven days. Earthquakes are displayed on the map by circular markers, which are sized according to the magnitude of the recorded quake.
