The State of Victoria is using Google Maps in its new VicEmergency website. The map shows the locations of the latest emergency warnings and provides information on the location and state of bushfires in the state.
The website also contains a lot of useful information on emergency contact phone numbers and how to prepare and respond to a fire.
ABC Emergency does an excellent job in reporting current emergency alerts and warnings for each Australian state. The site also carries good advice on preparing bushfire kits and plans and provides advice on how to contact the emergency services.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology also provides a National Warnings Summary, listing current fire warnings across the country.
