Synchronized Video Mapping
This Awesome Speedflying map is a death defying leap into some great old-school video mapping. It has been a while since I've seen a good video synchronized with a Google Map but it has been worth the wait.
Awesome Speedflying is a first-person video view of someone paragliding from the Alps in Switzerland. As the video plays you can follow the track and position of the paraglider on a Google Map. The playback control of the video includes a timeline and altitude control so you can also follow the height of the paraglider as he descends and lands.
The map was created with TrackSphere, a tool for synchronizing video with location, elevation and speed data on a Google Map. If you like the Awesome Speedflying map you can find many other great examples of synchronized video maps on TrackSphere.
