Historical Maps of New York & Paris
Old Maps of New York is a nice collection of historical maps of New York which can be viewed using the normal Google Maps panning and zoom controls.
The collection includes maps from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. It contains one of the earliest maps of the East Coast of the USA, the 1835 Nova Belgica et Anglia Nova. This map actually has west rather than north at the top of the map, but some familiar landmarks such as Manatthans and Hellegat should help you orient your way around the map.
Old Maps of Paris is the sister site to Old Maps of New York and includes a number of interesting historical maps of the French capital.
There are 25 historical maps in total in the collection, including a map of the small town of Paris circa 360 AD. The 360 AD map of Paris was actually created in 1705 and is based on the historical records of the time.
