Honey, I Shrunk Street View

Those crazy scientists at Google Maps have done it again. For their latest project they have managed to shrink a Street View cameraman down in size until he now stands at only 3 inches tall. The reason for this miniaturization was so that the Street View cameraman could capture 360 degree panoramic imagery of Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany.

Miniatur Wunderland boasts the world’s largest model railway. Around the railway Miniatur Wonderland also includes miniature models of a number of German and Austrian towns and even a few famous places in America.

You can explore this new miniature Street View project on Google Maps. However the best place to view these new tiny Street View scenes is on this dedicated Miniatur Wunderland Street View website. The site includes a lovely custom designed map which allows you to navigate to the different Street View scenes which have been captured from around the model railway.
