Story Maps from Heganoo

Heganoo is a new map creation tool which can help you create a Google Maps based Story Map. There are already a number of narrative mapping tools available on the market, including Esri's Story Maps, CartoDB's Odyssey.js and Knighlab's StoryMap JS, but Heganoo provides a nice alternative for anyone looking for an easy to use narrative mapping tool.

The tool allows you to choose from a number of custom designed base maps. If you don't like the available options Heganoo also includes a handy map style editor, which allows you to change the colors of map features, such as the water, land and roads.

Adding a marker to your map is as easy as dropping a pin on a map. You can then add content to your marker using a simple WYSIWYG editor. You can add text, pictures and even video content to your map, all from the simple to use content editor.

Once you have created a map you can share the URL or grab the embed code to place the map on your own website. If you want to have a look at some examples of maps created with Heganoo then check out the showcase, which includes a number of Story Maps made with the tool. Or check out this map of the important battles in the American Revolution.
