Historical Maps of Boston
The Norman B. Leventhal Map Center at the Boston Public Library has assembled an interesting online collection of historical maps of Boston and the United States.
The maps are organized into a number of categories; Britain's North American Empire, Mapping a New Nation, War for Independence and Prelude to Revolution. Each category theme includes a number of historical maps from the Center's collection.
You can view each of the maps overlaid on a modern map of the United States. The map includes a transparency slider, which allows you to adjust the opacity of the historical map and compare it to the modern map underneath.
