Visualizing Capital Bikeshare on Google Maps
Washington DC's Capital Bikeshare network contains over 200 stations with over 1800 bikes. The CaBi Trip Visualizer allows you to visualize the travel patterns of the network's users on a Google Map.
The map includes a number of options to view which stations users of the network picked up bikes from and where they were returned. You can select individual stations from a drop-down menu and arrows will be displayed on the map showing where the bikes were ridden to. The size of the arrows indicate the number of journeys made between the two stations.
As well as visualizing which stations cyclists traveled to you can see from where riders picked up bikes before dropping them off at a station and trips to and from stations.
