360cities Viewing Beacon

360cities
360cities, the VR panoramic photography site, has added a very cool new feature to its Google Maps view. Open the view, embedded below, in full-screen mode and then open the map (button on left hand side). With the map open watch what happens to the viewing beacon as you zoom in and out of the panorama.

I've seen a few sites now that use a viewing beacon that turns 360 degrees in Google Maps to reflect the current view. However, I think this is the first time I've seen a viewing beacon that narrows and expands as you zoom in or out.

It might only be a small addition to the site, but as they say 'the devil is in the detail'. This new feature makes 360cities an even more essential destination on the web.
