Last year the 10 and 3 mapped the most prevalent languages, besides French and English, spoken in Canadian homes. Using data from the 2011 census that
Canada Languages Map shows the most spoken language in each census area.
This year the 10 and 3 has decided to explore the distribution of languages spoken in Canada. The
Tower of Babel map allows you to choose any language spoken in Canada from a drop-down menu and view a choropleth layer showing the number of its speakers in each census division.
In addition to the choropleth layer you can hover over census divisions on the map to view the exact number of speakers of the chosen language and the percentage of the district population who speak the language.
