Google Map of NYC Crashes

CrashStat

Transportation Alternatives have produced this Google Maps mashup to show pedestrian and biking accidents in New York. The map shows DMV accident statistics so that you can quickly identify which NYC intersections are the most dangerous.

The map includes a slider time-line so that it is possible to view the accidents for any period between 1995 and 2005. It is also possible to select from four different data sets, 'Pedestrian Injuries', 'Pedestrian Fatalities', 'Bicycle Injuries' and 'Bicycle Fatalities'.

Looking for an application that shows potential rideshare partners based on trip origin and destination. How would we put our "carpool classifieds" spreadsheet data onto a Google Map application?

    Thanks,

  2. The simplest way would be to use a map creation tool that has spreadsheet support. e.g, Map Channels http://www.mapchannels.com/ .

Alternatively you could pay a developer. e.g. the GoogleMapsDev link in the right hand column of this page.

Lastly, you could start playing with the Google Maps API yourself.
